Meet Karin “Careen”
Karin Hartunian Koukeyan, MS, CCC-SLP
Founder & Speech-Language Pathologist
Karin "Ca-REEN" Hartunian Koukeyan is the founder and owner of SpeechFit, A SLP Corporation, a solo practice offering clinical, corporate, and consulting services available in person, hybrid and telehealth.
With over 20 years of experience as a Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist, she has worked in various settings with all ages, including schools, home health, outpatient clinics, early intervention, and private practice. Karin began working in telepractice in 2010, a time when its effectiveness was still met with skepticism. She has excelled in this modality for nearly fifteen years, taking on leadership roles in the special education and allied healthcare fields. Her professional passions include content creation, conference presentations, publications, webinars, and specialized program development. A dedicated advocate for speech-language pathology and telehealth services, Karin champions their role at local, state, and federal levels. She is the Associate Coordinator for the ASHA SIG 18 Coordinating Committee for the 2023-2025 term. Additionally, she hosts the podcast mini-series "Telepractice: It's Not Just Screen Time" for Speech Therapy PD.
Karin is currently licensed in California, Texas and Arizona. She is also certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association with her Certificate of Clinical Competence.
